SCALE photonics CEO to Give Invited Talk at SPIE Photonics West 2027, the World’s Largest Photonics Conference

Masanao Kamata, President and CEO of SCALE photonics, will give an invited talk in the Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Lasers XXXI session at SPIE Photonics West 2027. The event will be held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, USA, from January 30 to February 4, 2027.

Organized each year by SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, Photonics West is the world’s largest photonics conference and exhibition. It hosts around 100 technical conferences covering lasers, optoelectronics, biophotonics, quantum technologies and more, and draws researchers, engineers and industry leaders from around the world.

The talk, titled “Chip-scale high-peak surface-emitting laser with kilowatt-class peak power,” will present the latest results from SCALE photonics’ chip-scale high-peak surface-emitting lasers, which combine semiconductor and solid-state laser materials on a single chip. It will also look at the new applications this performance makes possible.

SCALE photonics will continue to share the potential of its technology with the world through conferences and exhibitions in Japan and abroad.
