Since the invention of the laser in 1960, its light has supported human progress across a wide range of fields, including science, industry, and medicine. However, a long-standing dilemma has persisted: semiconductor lasers, while compact and suitable for mass production, have inherent limitations in output power, whereas solid-state lasers, capable of high output, are difficult to miniaturize. We aim to overcome this conventional trade-off with our proprietary “chip-scale high-peak-power laser” technology. Through this innovation, we will contribute to new application domains that have been difficult to realize, including high-precision sensing for Physical AI.
